Description
Venture off the beaten path and experience the chic bohemian vibe of South East Kelowna's boutique wineries. Unique, family run and limited production combine to create Instagram-worthy posts and the opportunity to sample some of the local's best-kept secrets.
Priest Creek Family Estate Wineries desire to provide a collection of quality premium wines which can be shared today or cellared for the future. Priest Creek Family Estate Winery was founded through Darren and Jane’s wish to raise their children on a vineyard, bringing them back to their farming roots. They are located in South Kelowna in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, boasting beautiful mountain vistas from each direction.
“Priest Creek” was chosen to pay tribute to the heritage of the land. This Estate was part of a parcel of land farmed by the Mission in the mid-1800s. Priest Creek runs behind the property and into Mission Creek, where Father Pandosy planted the first grapes in the valley for wine.
Corporate life was exciting and challenging, and nonstop! But there was always something nagging at Rob–he longed to create something with his own hands. On a long-term business assignment in San Francisco, Rob fell in love with wine. Something clicked, and he realized that this was meant to be.
And so, life took another convoluted turn. Rob turned his efforts to studying the artistry and science of winegrowing and winemaking. Many years of simultaneously apprenticing with innovative Okanagan winemakers, earning his Viticulture and Enology certificates from Washington State University, planting the Nagging Doubt estate vineyard from scratch, and learning the business of wine on the job have helped Rob earn his place among the industry’s hardest-working talents.
After you’ve walked the farm, met the animals, and perhaps been roped into a farm chore or two, you’ll likely be ready to wet your whistle. Meet the owners in the tasting room to share a sip and a story. (They like hearing yours as much as they like telling theirs.)
Just steps away are the still house, where you can learn how their distilling team works their alchemistic magic. Their farm-crafted spirits are made with passion in this quaint, rustic room. And yep, a healthy dose of blood, sweat and tears, if they’re being honest.
The View Winery is situated on a parcel of land that has been in the Turton/Ward family for five generations. Historically, fresh market apples were grown on the property. In the mid-1990s a transition began and vineyards and cider apples were planted. Spartans and McIntosh gave way to Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Ehrenfelser and Pinotage vines and cider apple varieties such as Belle de Boskoop, Chisel Jersey and Bulmers Norman.

Customer Reviews
Book early! I waited till the day before and the most popular tours of West Kelowna were full. The only tour, outside of a 7 hour one, was of east Kelowna, small vineyards with limited exposure. Decided to risk it and was very happy. small group - four of us - four vineyards in 3 hours. Each vineyard provided 5 samples of a variety of grapes and wines and ciders. Bella was our driver and she was fantastic and friendly, and the van comfortable. Overall a good experience and highly recommended.
