Itinerary

We begin our tasting journey at Intrigue Wines, a charming family-owned winery known for its award-winning wines crafted from hand-picked grapes. Enjoy a tasting of their premium wines while learning about their winemaking philosophy.

Intrigue Wines was established in 2008 when two families joined to explore their wine passion. A winemaker, an accountant, an internet entrepreneur and a healthcare advisor - all pursuing their fascination and curiosity for wine.

Next, you'll visit Arrowleaf Cellars, a winery with a spectacular setting and a reputation for producing exceptional wines. Arrowleaf is a family-owned and operated winery founded in 2001 by the Zuppiger family. In 1986, Joe and Margrit Zuppiger and their five children immigrated to Canada from Switzerland, where they had been operating an organic orchard and dairy farm. After ten years in the dairy business in Alberta, they moved to the Okanagan. They purchased Suncrest Vineyard and, two years later, the Carter Farm, the current location of the winery. They grew grapes for Gray Monk Estate Winery for the first five years.

Their eldest son Manuel returned to Switzerland to complete an apprenticeship program in winemaking. After his studies, Manuel gained additional industry experience by working as a cellar hand for three seasons. In the meantime, construction of the winery building began, and Arrowleaf Cellars officially opened its doors in 2003. Arrowleaf became the second winery in Lake Country. They started out modestly, producing six wines: Auxerrois, Barrique, Pinot Gris, Bacchus, Merlot, and Zweigelt, for 3,500 cases.

Arrowleaf now has 16 acres on their estate and oversees another 30 acres. The Arrowleaf wine portfolio produces over a dozen wines yearly, with an annual production of approximately 16,000 cases. The tasting room, designed by award-winning architect Robert Mackenzie, opened in 2014.

Experience the first winery established in Lake Country, Gray Monk Estate Winery, where you'll soak up the stunning lake views from their patio and taste their delicious award-winning wines, including their namesake, Pinot Gris.

Gray Monk Estate Winery was established in 1972 by George and Trudy Heiss. Working with the Heiss family, Gray Monk is now proudly owned and operated by Andrew Peller Limited.

The Gray Monk Estate comprises 75 acres of lush vineyards overlooking Okanagan Lake and premium grapes sourced throughout the Okanagan Valley to produce some of the world's finest wines.

For lunch, raise a glass, savour local bounty and bask in the view. The Lookout Restaurant at Gray Monk Winery showcases the best of what the Okanagan offers in a casual elegant atmosphere. Executive Chef Graham Momer and team aim to delight guests with a rotating seasonal menu that celebrates and supports our local farmers.

Enjoy a two-course, wine-paired lunch experience (cost excluded).

After lunch, we'll visit Ex Nihilo Vineyards. The story of Ex Nihilo is a journey of a dream and a shared passion for creating exceptional wines that go back over 20 years. The winery dream began when the founders first came across a working replica sculpture of Fredrick Hart's Ex Nihilo, Latin for 'Out of Nothing,' on display at a Gallery and proclaimed one day, if they build a winery they would call it Ex Nihilo. They partnered with their long-time friend shortly after, and Ex Nihilo Vineyards was born. It was a catalyst for the creation of the winery and its emergence as a premier, award-winning Okanagan Valley wine producer.

Ex Nihilo was created first and foremost to produce wines that exceed expectations. First planted in 2004, 20 acres of premium vines thrive on our southwest-facing property. Generous amounts of Okanagan sun help to ripen the fruit, while the intense flavours flourish under the moderating effects of Lake Okanagan.

They take great pride and care in farming their vineyards sustainably. Ex Nihilo also partners with our visionary grape growers who have nurtured their lands throughout the Valley.
