Moraine Winery
Moraine Winery

Moraine Winery is a family-owned winery and vineyard overlooking Okanagan lake, minutes from Penticton. Moraine peers over the landscape and water from its shelf-like location above striking clay bluffs. These glaciated white clay cliffs comprise the breathtaking Naramata Bench and inspire the winery’s land-formed name.

The winery owners are the husband-wife team of Oleg & Svetlana. In 1995, the couple moved to Canada from Europe to give their family a better quality of life. They first moved to Edmonton, where they lived for 15 years. They were charmed by the beauty of the Okanagan and vineyards, which made them relocate from Alberta in 2009. The couple believes that wine offers one of life’s most simple, enjoyable, and accessible pleasures, and this philosophy spurred their leap into the wine industry.

Lake Breeze Vineyards
Lake Breeze Vineyards

Lake Breeze was named for the winds that blow across the bluffs year-round. They are located on the renowned Naramata Bench on Lake Okanagan. The MacIntyre family purchased the property in 2001. Although the beginnings were humble, the excellent craft of a young winemaker inspired the MacIntyres to invest extensively and pour their hearts into this wild venture.

The wines of Lake Breeze are known to be clean, crisp and fruit driven in style. They endeavour to take the natural expression of the grape and transfer it to the bottle with as little intervention as possible. The Lake Breeze Cellar Series is a luxurious collection adorned with their wind goddess. Each varietal pays tribute to the regional wind that embodies its unique winemaking style.

Hillside Winery
Hillside Winery

Unique, small-lot, and terroir-driven are terms best used to describe Hillside's wines. their focus is showcasing hand-crafted wine made exclusively from Naramata-grown grapes. Hillside wines display unique and compelling characteristics allowing wine drinkers the opportunity to share in the discovery and development of the Naramata Bench as a collection of serious terroirs.

Their charming courtyard and modern farmhouse tasting room offer a friendly and casual setting to explore and taste their award-winning wines.

Roche Wines
Roche Wines

Pénélope and Dylan Roche, the owners, winemakers, and vignerons at Roche Wines, brought their sustainable farming practices and traditional French savoir-faire to Okanagan terroir in 2011.

Dylan and Pénélope Roche had extensive experience in their project. Pénélope is a trained viticulturist and winemaker from Bordeaux, France. For six generations, her family-owned Chateau Les Carmes Haut-Brion, an exquisite vineyard and winery in the Graves appellation whose history dates back to Roman times. Born into the winemaking tradition, Pénélope studied enology in Bordeaux and made wine in Spain, New Zealand, and Australia. Born in Vancouver, Dylan found his passion for wine while working for an active travel company in the heart of Burgundy, France, as a bicycle mechanic. Earning his diploma in viticulture and winemaking in Beaune, he apprenticed in Chablis and New Zealand before relocating to Bordeaux. He taught wine appreciation classes in Pauillac and made wine in Margaux and Pessac-Leognan.

The Patio Restaurant
The Patio Restaurant

This stunning property, Lake Breeze Vineyards, overlooks Lake Okanagan and is home to The Patio restaurant, which offers open-air “destination” dining. Steps away from the kitchen are the two-acre farm that supplies them not only vegetables, fruits, herbs, and greens for their fresh food-focused menus but hogs for their charcuterie program and chickens for their eggs. It just doesn’t get any more local than this.

Loved our Penticton/Naramada tour. Danny was an amazing tour guide and the selections wicked wine tours has chosen for tastings was excellent! All the venues were super knowledgeable and shared the evolution of the bench over the last decade since I last was there. And it just so happened we got a private tour!

I have booked this wine tour twice in the last two years. The Naramata tour and Lakeshore. They have a really great selection of wineries and seem to know where the hidden gems are. It is nice because you do not have to wait when you get to the wineries. Both drivers I had were awesome. Last year, Gerry made it super memorable for us! I have done other wine tours, but prefer this one cause it is smaller and gives it a more personal feel. The vans are super nice and comfortable and they organize your wine for you and keep you hydrated! Can't wait to go back to Kelowna and try out another new tour with these guys I have booked this wine tour twice in the last two years. We had a great time on our tour of the Naramata Bench with our driver Danny. It was too bad that we had so much smoke from the fires, but the wineries, and Danny were incredible. Highly recommended!
